Hue

Our next stop was Hue, in central Vietnam. To travel here we spent our second night in a row on the train! This time we were on the regular Vietnam Railways train instead of the tourist carriage so it wasn't quite as nice. We still had beds and air con though. We shared our cabin with an English couple and we stayed up for a while with them to play cards and drink beer-actually my first beer in Vietnam! Rosie had to quit cards because she still didn't feel too well and because the rules were a bit complex :-S. She also said that the train toilet made her feel worse, it wasn't quite as sanitary as the last train!

In the morning the train was supposed to arrive at 10.45am, so by 12 o'clock I was starting to worry that we had somehow missed the stop! We hadn't though and we arrived in Hue soon after that. We were pretty hungry by then so we checked into our hotel and had a very late breakfast/brunch.

Later we walked down to the Perfume River and around the city.

The next day we got up early..ish and walked across to the Old Citadel. It was very HOT!

In other news Rosie bought a hat today. Now I don't have to be angry anymore because she came to Vietnam without a hat and I have to give her mine when she's sun stroked!....after all the hat discussions we had last year. Now she has to wear it even if it doesn't go with her outfit.

Also, I've had a banana pancake overdose, I think I've had 3 in the last 24 hours! But only because it's one of the breakfast options at our hotel!
