Continuing on our drives towards Wanaka, we stopped to take some photos of the beautiful lake views.

When arriving in the town, we treated ourselves to a delicious Italian restaurant.  We felt this was well deserved after our chilly tent night.

The weather the next day was pretty gloomy, but we set out on a bike ride undeterred.

Jackson Bay & Haast Pass

After leaving Fox Glacier, we got stuck in a traffic jam while we waited for a bridge to be repainted! Once that was done we continued to the end of the road at Jackson Bay, stopping for a few walks and viewpoints along the way.

Fish & Chip Caravan - Jackson Bay

After re-fueling with fish and chips at Jackson Bay (plus homemade tartar sauce that Ros practically licked out of the bowl)! we turned around and headed inland across Haast Pass.  We stopped and camped for the night in a DOC campground along the pass - one of our coldest camping nights yet!

After leaving camp we stopped at Thundercreek and Fantail Falls and the Makaroa Blue Pools on our way to Wanaka.
